Rustic wood-looking cookies are all the rage.
Here's a super easy version to try.
Hand cut out a large long rectangular chocolate cookie (recipe).
With a cake tester, make impressions down the length of the cookie to represent planks.
(see photo below)
Cut two planks that are the same width as the width of your rectangle.
Place them across the top and bottom of the rectangle as seen below.
Finally, cut out a heart shape out of the middle of the rectangle.
Bake and cool the cookie as usual.
Make up a mixture of powdered sugar with Americolor white food color gel.
Roughly paint it all over the wood planked rectangle.
