Just Froggy Cookie Collection

With all those happy frog faces.....there needed to be some cattails, lotus flowers,
dragonflies, mushrooms, and lily pads. :)

Can you hear the happy rib-bits coming from the pond?

Buggin' Out Cookie Collection (2-D Bug Cookies)

Oh what fun I had making five different kinds of 2D bug cookies
and adding accent cookies to each theme. :)

Buggin' Out: Caterpillar Cookies (Tutorial)

A final 2D-bug cookie tutorial.......
CATERPILLARS!

Use a long triangular-shaped cutter for the body of the caterpillar
(I used a trimmed version of a surfboard cutter.)
Decorate the caterpillar body as desired.

You will also need a smaller circle cookie for the head (I used a 1 1/2" diameter).
The size of the circle will depend on the size of the caterpillar body.
Outline and flood the circle in green 10-second glaze.
While the glaze is still wet, put two large green candy pearls in place for the eyes
(or you can use white pearls).
Add a dot of black glaze to each "eyeball" for the pupil.
And then add a large black candy pearl for the nose.

Allow both cookies to dry overnight.

And then it is time for assembly.
Add some glaze to the back of the "head" cookie.
(Make sure the caterpillar's face is in the right direction before adding the "glue".)

CookieCrazie's Week in Review

_________________________________________________

Personal Side

My oven is operational again.
Yeah!
That means I could bake cookies this week.

I chose to do birthday cookies.....just because I think that is a popular cookie occasion.
Plus I just got a few new birthday-related cutters I was anxious to use.
I can not wait to show you. :)

Family time last weekend was amazing.
Lots of memories and good times. :)
Only one bad thing.....the time together seemed so short.

Keith leaves for college today.......
He and my daughters are Florida-bound.
The girls are making a whirlwind weekend trip.....
to help out their brother AND see the beach.
I guess I'm getting old.....but I have NO desire to drive 18 hours
and then turn around and come right back the next day. ;)

Next week.....I'm moving on to baby boy cookies.
Can you envision mustaches, ties, and bow ties?
Again.....more new cutters that are dying to be used. hee hee

Summer is winding down.
School is about ready to start.
Oh how time flies faster and faster, huh?

Instagram photos for this week:

There's just something about buntings that I just can't get enough of.... :)

Yesterday's family photo shoot.....I love my kids! :)

A little sweet congratulations on it's way to David this week. :)

One of my faves of the family photo shoot.....the mama hug. :)

There's always something to celebrate..... :)

Details.....details :)

In a continuation of the 2D bug cookie theme..... today's cutie is a dragonfly.

Start out with a dragonfly-shaped cookie.
Here's a few cutter possibilites:
Dragonfly Cutter by Ann Clark (used in tutorial)

Decorate the dragon fly as desired.

You will also need a smaller circle cookie for the head (I used a 1 1/2" diameter).
The size of the circle will depend on the size of the dragonfly.
Outline and flood the circle in black 10-second glaze.
While the glaze is still wet, put two large white candy pearls in place for the eyes.
Add a dot of black glaze to each "eyeball" for the pupil.
And then add a large black candy pearl for the nose.

Allow both cookies to dry overnight.

And then it is time for assembly.
Add some glaze to the back of the "head" cookie.
(Make sure the dragonfly's face is in the right direction before adding the "glue".)
