Personal Side

What a gift.....this last holiday weekend ended up being an opportunity
for me to get caught up on so many things.
I'm much more prepared for the Ukraine trip.....
PLUS.....I got to decorated cookies.
Win win win!

It's probably best if I don't reveal the theme of the cookies I am currently decorating.
I've already been made fun of by a family member.
That's OK.
I'm not intimidated by others' expectations. ;)

It's either HOT or rainy here......crazy weather.
It's been an interesting summer so far.

Back to my "secret" cookies......hint.....it helps me think about cooler weather.

Personal Side

My sister came in town from Florida this last week and we've been super busy hanging out together.
It has been a joy to have all my sisters together.
Tuesday we had "Christmas", since it's been forever since we've celebrated that holiday together.
It was fun.....even though it was a bit strange to include a swim party and sitting out in the heat. haha

Needless to say, I've not done cookies this week.
But I've had the privilege of sharing all the cookies I've made recently.
It's always a joy to share.

Our Ukraine trip is shaping up for August.
We just shipped all the supplies (400 lbs!) these last two weeks.
Now I just have some personal prep I need to do.
Believe it or not......the trip is now less than SIX WEEKS away!

This summer is flying by.
June is already gone.....and we're heading into the Independence holiday.
Crazy.
We've got to savor the moments everyone.
As hard as that is sometimes......we must remember that now is all we have.

Patriotic Mason Jar Decorated Cookies (Tutorial)

Mason jar decor continues to be very popular.
Adding some patriotic stars and stripes to mason jar cookies is easy and fun.

There are many mason jar cutters available to purchase.
One of my favorites (and the one used here) is the tall and thin mason jar cutter from Ann Clark.

Outline and flood the cookies with red and/or navy glaze as seen below.

Allow the cookie to dry overnight.

Using Americolor Bright White color gel, paint on stars and/or stripes to the mason jars.
Perfection is not expected since this style is rustic and random. :)
