Mmmmm......that love-able candy that represents a kiss. :)
The best part about making these cookies is that you control the messages placed into them.
They can be as generic or as personal as you'd like.
Print out your personalized messages using a small font (8-12).
Trim them so they are on a long thin piece of paper.
For the cookie, I highly recommend a chocolate cut-out cookie. Mmmmm
The dark color and yummy flavor is perfect for this project.
The special copper cutter I purchased a few years ago is no longer available (sorry!),
but a triangle cutter with one end curled to look like a kiss works just fine.
BEFORE baking the cookies......
Trim the message papers with an extra blank portion that can be stuck into the cookie.
Cut open the "top" of the cookie and insert the paper message.
Once the cookies are baked, outline and flood the cookies with gray 10-second glaze.
(Gray is made by adding a tiny amount of Americolor Super Black to uncolored glaze.)
Allow the glaze to dry for 1-2 hours (times will vary with conditions),
then gently press on a texture mat to give the glaze a crinkled foil look.
To make the imprints random......press in one direction, and then in a different direction.
Also, use a cake tester to add some foil lines to the glaze.
Allow the glaze to dry overnight.
Brush a mixture of silver pearl dust and almond extract onto the entire cookie.
