In anticipation of Mothers Day, let's plan a tea party.
First, let's make some tea bag cookies.
Use any rectangle cutter (or hand cut your rectangle shapes).
(Here's a cute
tea bag cutter from
That's a Nice Cookie Cutter that Ronee made for this set.)
Be sure to use a straw to cut out a hole at the top of the bag before you bake them.
Make a
10-second glaze with NO food color added.....to give a transparent appearance for the bag.
Outline and flood with it as you normally would.
See the photo below on how to outline the top with diagonal "corners".
After the first layer has dried a few hours, gather together
lots of color coordinated and shiny embellishments to represent the tea leaves in the bags.
Outline a small portion of the bottom of the bag (see photo below) with the transparent glaze,
and then sprinkle the embellishments on top.
Allow the cookies to dry overnight.
If desired, make some fun tags using
wafer paper and a cute die cut shape.
I used some clear acrylic stamps and black color gel to stamp
a heart and "Mom" onto the wafer paper.
Make a hole with a paper punch and then use bakers twine to tie the tags onto the tea bags.
