Pumpkin Cookies (Tutorial)

Pumpkin cookies.....made simple with texture......great combination. :)

Outline and flood the pumpkin with orange 10-second glaze.

After the glaze has dried at least one hour,
use a long thin tool like a cake tester to add indentations for segments.
(Timing for letting glaze dry depends on lots of factors like humidity, etc......
so you have to experiment with how long it takes until the glaze will hold an indentation.)

Add a brown glaze stem.....and give it texture in the same way.

Allow the cookies to dry overnight.
If desired....paint dry bronze pearl dust onto the seams to give the pumpkins more dimension.

Realistic Leaf Cookies (Tutorial)

Leaves.....leaves.....and more leaves
It's amazing how many ways you can decorate them to get totally different effects.

For a more realistic look, add the vein of the leaf in brown 10-second glaze first.

Allow the lines to dry for about 15 minutes.
Then outline and flood the entire cookie in whatever fall leaf color you'd like.

The brown veining has two effects.
It shows through the lighter colored glaze.....and it adds a 3D look to the vein.

Allow them to dry overnight.
Using elite/pearl dust and almond extract, paint some shading around the edges and along the veins.
I used green leaf, and bronze dusts on the leaves shown.
