Once again, this neon sign styled technique screamed to be done in back-to-school cookies. :)
I couldn't resist.

I think the effect works well since many back-to-school cookies are based on a black chalkboard. I love the simplicity of this kind... EVERY time. It's highly recommended. :)

Half Pint Milk Carton Decorated Cookie (Tutorial)

It's time to start prepping for back-to-school time. 

A couple of years ago I did an "Old School" Cookie Collection that contained a milk carton. 
I found the shape on Ecrandal's site and decided it should be featured in this year's collection.

Milk Carton Half Pint by "e"

To emphasize dimension on the milk cartons, do each segment separately. 
Changing up the colors in each adjoining segment will make them "pop" even more.

Dry the cookies overnight.

Use a black food color marker and red food color marker to add some details to the cartons.

Old School Cookie Collection

What is it about back-to-school theme that is so very very fun?

I remember when I would go to purchase all the supplies for my kids
before we started back to homeschool each year.
It's that same kind of giddy feeling.
It must have to do with a "new beginning"......all fresh and clean.

This year seemed like a good time to take on a more vintage feel for the back-to-school cookies.
And that is how the Old School Cookie Collection was born.
