Owls......a popular cookie for autumn.
There's a multitude of ways to decorate an owl.
Here's a fairly simple version.
I used this cutter for my shape.
I pinched the top and bottom of the cutter together to make the owl chunkier. haha
After it has dried for more than 15 minutes,
add large dots of brown glaze and immediately place a
white sixlet (or other white sugar pearl, etc) to form the eyes.
I like the sixlets because they are especially large.....and I like BIG eyes. :)

Add a pupil to the eye.
I used a very tiny dot of glaze.....but I wouldn't recommend this
since many of them popped off once dried.
Instead.....a pupil made with a food color marker would probably work better.
After the brown glaze has dried for at least an hour,
outline and flood the ears & wings as shown.
You can also add the "talons" for feet.
If desired, you can dress the owls up by using a black or brown food color marker
after they have dried overnight.
