It occurred to me after I posted this morning that you might think I came up with the clever "minimalist" form of SW characters. I was going to wait until tomorrow to reveal my inspiration, but I decided rather than have anyone think I did this on my own, I would just go ahead and post the rest of the pics and share my source of inspiration.
My son, Kyle, wanted me to make these SW character cookies for a friend. First we were talking about making the actual characters.....but I didn't feel comfortable with that.... both because of copyright and because they are so complex. Kyle showed me these pics on Flickr of Sam Sterling-Sutton's awesome "minimalist" versions. You can find Sam's Flickr pics here and his Etsy posters here. I asked Sam for permission to use his idea, and he graciously agreed to it.
Here's additional characters......
and the whole crew together....
I was amazed at how many of you knew the characters right off the bat. That is great.....because it means they are recognizable. :)
I get to make some autumn quilts later this week.....so be looking for them this weekend.
