Wedding Groom Heart Cookies (Tutorial)

I know there is nothing new about groom and bride heart cookies.
They've been around for many years.

But as I made them for my daughter's wedding last month......
I thought I might her wedding's version on the blog.

The cool thing about these wedding cookies is that they can be completely personalized.
Both the groom and bride's wedding attire can be emulated via a heart cookie!

My new son-in-law wore a grey suit with a plaid bow tie.

He's a quite a spiffy guy.
I love him tons!
So it was an honor to make him and my daughter some special cookies for their wedding.

Start off by making the white shirt on the heart cookie.
Outline and flood a triangle (of sorts) as seen below.

Allow the glaze to dry for about 1 hour and then add the gray suit.

Once the white glaze has dried for approximately 1 1/2- 2 hours,
use a cake tester to make some shirt lines and add some buttons.

Since the bow tie's base was white, I just added a white bow tie to the cookie
and will add the pink stripes later.

Outline and flood the gray lapels.

And finally......add the pink stripes on the bowtie. :)
