Heart Cookies with Ribbon Bows
It's fun to "dress up" cookies with some pretty ribbon.
If a heart cookie has a portion of it's inside cut out prior to baking,
it provides a perfect way to tie a ribbon around the side.
You'll need to make larger heart cookies in order to have enough space to cut out the center,
and yet keep the cookie from being too fragile with thin edges.
For most of the cookies below, I cut out a mini-heart shape on either side of the heart cookie.
But you could also cut out a larger heart right in the center.
Either of these graduated sets of heart cookie cutters are ideal for this project.

Outline and flood the heart cookies as desired.
(Be sure to outline the inside cut-out area as well, to keep the glaze from going off the edge.)
Add embellishments as desired.
Allow the cookies to dry overnight.
Using color coordinated ribbon, cut an approximate 12" length for each heart cookie.

Wrap and tie the ribbon on either side of the heart, completing it with pretty bow.
It's almost like wrapping up a beautiful present for someone. :)
Note: Be sure the recipient understands that the ribbon is not to be eaten!
